Modern
air-conditioned (AC) circular buses (Chakrakar Bus Service) have been
introduced in the capital city Dhaka's Dhanmondi - New Market - Azimpur route. The minimum
rent for this bus service has been fixed at Taka 10, maximum Taka 30. Passengers
will be able to make local area bus journey between 36 stops. Dhaka South City
Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayed Khokon inaugurated the bus service from the
adjacent mirpur road near Kalabagan playground on Wednesday, 27th
March, 2019.
The
Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will operate this circular bus
service of about 10 KM route. However, there are different opinions and
comments came from the passengers about the minimum rental of the bus. A part
of the passengers said, the minimum rental was fixed at Tk 10, it should be
less. Another part said that the fares of an air conditioning bus and the
distance of the road are not very much for 10 taka, safety and comfortable
travel is the key.
Around 20-25
buses of BRTC will operate in Azimpur - New Market - Dhanmondi route. Buses
will stop at total 36 places and wait for the scheduled time. There will be another
bus after five minutes in every counter. Apart from this, no other passenger
buses will travel in this route. Round-the-clock bus services will be started
from six in the morning. Passengers will buy the ticket and get on the bus by standing
on the line. It will ensure the safety and comfort for the passengers. Similarly,
separate circular AC bus services will be introduced in Motijheel and Uttara area
soon.
The DSCC
mayor Sayed Khokan said, "Committee on Bus Route is working to operate all
the buses through six companies to bring discipline in the city's mass
transport system. It will take more than two years to implement the project.
Earlier, I have decided to launch this circular bus service to provide services
for citizens." He also said “the inauguration of Chakraar Bus Service, the
directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been directed to ensure
discipline and public transport in the public transport. As part of this, the
bus service has been started in the city. As a result, the demand of private
cars on the road will be reduced. Roads in Dhanmondi and Mirpur Roads will
reduce traffic congestion.”
Dhaka
North City Corporation (DNCCC) mayor Atiqul Islam said, "We will ensure
safe roads working together." Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner
Aasaduzzaman Mia said, "We still can’t bring public transport to the
visible chain. But our efforts are continuing. Within fifteen days, we want to
change the order of mass transport. We do not want to see the dead bodies on
the road."

You guys should fix a bus from Mohakhali/Gulshan - Bashundhora. It would have been very helpful for those people who can't travel through local bus. And the people of Gulshan/Mohakhali,are unable to get any proper bus to travel. So it would be very helpful for us if this bus service could be put in these routes.
