Gulshan Chaka | New Bus Service in Banani Baridhara Area

Recently another bus company has started mass transit A/C bus service in Banani - Gulshan area. The bus service is named as ‘Gulshan Chaka’. The AC circular bus already started their service from July 23 and most of the passenger riding on these buses is happy with the service.

Earlier another public transport service ‘Dhaka Chaka’ was started in Gulshan, Baridhara and Banani area under the initiative of the late Mayor Anisul Haque which has been launched by the Nitol Niloy group.

On the pick hour during morning and before evening, it became tough for the Dhaka Chaka bus service to handle the pressure of the passengers.

Now after starting of the new Gulshan Chaka bus service, hope the problems will be solved. The route of Gulshan Chaka is from Kakali to Badda Link Road and Natun Bazar which is little bit different from the Dhaka Chaka bus service. Ticket counters / stations are:

• Kakoli

• Kamal Ataturk Avenue - Banani

• Gulshan-2

• Gulshan-1

• Badda Link Road

• Natun Bazar

The Gulshan Chaka bus service is an initiative and is maintaining by the popular private bus company Himachal. Initially to provide a better service to the passengers around 20 air conditioned buses has been launched, each of the bus has 40 standard seats. The number of vehicles will be increased in phases.

BRTA Bangladesh Road Transport Authority has approved route permit to the company and also the DNCC - Dhaka North City Corporation has given permission to Himachal for operate 50 buses on the route.

Some passengers who need to go to Gulshan-1/ Badda/ via Gulshan-2, they used to change buses using the existing Dhaka Chaka. But now, one bus service is running through the Banani - Kamal Ataturk Avenue - Gulshan 2, Gulshan 1, Baridhara - Badda Link Road – Natun Bazar route. Passengers are feeling very comfortable and convenient with the new service.

Everyone hope that the new Gulsha Chaka bus will provide better service and passengers will ride smoothly. Moreover, the monopoly of doing business of a single company also needs to be changed. Otherwise, there will be no competition. And if the competition increases, passengers will get better service.
