In this post I am going to introduce you about the Official Website of the Special Security Force (SSF), the elite Force of the Government of Bangladesh providing physical protection and security to the VIPs (Head of the State and the Government).
SSF also provides physical protection and security to a visiting foreign head of state or government and any person declared as VIP by the government. The mainstay of this force is the specially selected officers from various disciplined forces like Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Police and Ansar. The force is commanded by a Director General (Brigadier / Major General) who directly acts upon the orders and instructions the Head of Government. They are specially trained to make them `security agents'.

SSF - Special Security Force was established on 15th of June 1986, with a mission to provide physical protection and security to the President, Prime Minister (or head of government), visiting Head of State/Government of any country and any person declared as VIP by the government.
SSF carries out this sacred task as per the provisions and authorities vested in the force by Special Security Force Ordinance 1986 and Red Book. SSF is organized into various bureaus namely, Operations and Protection, Intelligence, Logistics and Training. The office is located at Prime Minister's Office at Tejgaon.
Protection:
SSF Provides physical protection and security to the VIPs of Bangladesh inside and outside of the country. SSF also provides physical protection and security to a visiting foreign head of the state or government and any person declared as VIP by the government. Physical protection of the VIP is executed / performed on ground by the agents of the Protection Bureau.
They carry out sweeping, search and all other Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and drills as necessary for the protection of the VIP. Use of various "state-of-the-art" equipment and well trained sniffer dogs are part of the protection array. This important task is executed in conjunction with other security and law enforcing agencies.
Training:
The SSF Training Center is located in the heart of Dhaka City opposite to the Prime Minister’s Office. It is well equipped with all training gears and accommodation facilities. The training conducted at Special Security Force is unique because of its quality. SSF provides a wide range of courses utilizing its personnel throughout their SSF career.
The course curriculum provided by SSF is designed for Close Physical Protection Group, Residence Group, Advance Group, Solo Body Guards, Special Agents and Security Intelligence Agents. In a single year hundreds of training recruits undergo extensive training in firearms, use-of-force/control tactics, emergency medical techniques, physical protection and water survival and rescue training.
