The metro
rail of Dhaka is being visible on the streets of the city. Spans are building
on top of the pillars. One of the important infrastructures of the Metro Rail
project is the stations. On the one hand, the construction of the metro rail
line is ongoing and on the other hand, the ongoing work of the steel set of the
ultra luxurious stations which are constructing in Japan.
The steel set
of MRT stations from Japan will be placed on top of the pillars. The steel station
set will arrive at Dhaka before the metro rail coach arrival from Japan.
In the MRT
Line-6 there will be total 16 stations which are Uttara (North), Uttara (Center),
Uttara (South), Pallabi, Mirpur-11, Mirpur-10, Kazipara, Taltola, Agargaon
(IDB), Bijoy Sarani, Farmgate, Sonargaon (Karwan bazar), National Museum
(Shahbagh), Doyel Chattar (DU), National Stadium (Paltan) and Bangladesh Bank
(Motijheel). The metro rail route will be on the middle of the road. The
station will be more than two-storey high and the length will be 180 meters.
Ticket purchase and automatic entrance facilities for the passengers from both
sides will be available.
History of
Bangladesh's Liberation War, History and Culture of the Bengali nation and
Islamic culture will be displayed on the stations. Out of 16, three Iconic
stations will be built and the rest will be general. Iconic stations are Uttara
South, Bijoy Sarani and Motijheel. These stations will be built in such a way
that it will be understood that it is the MRT station in Bangladesh. The
weather and geographical info of the country will also be visible at the
stations. Every MRT station will be modern and luxurious.
The
attractive aspect of the station is the platform roof. Highly vividly
white-colored geometric arcade roofs can be separated by two straight lines.
There will be transparent glass in some places, so that the sunlight can enter
and spread on both sides of the platform.
The British
company John McAslan Plus Partners (JMPI) has designed 16 stations of the Metro
Rail project together with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology
(BUET).
The stations
will be sophisticated and luxurious. Our country's history, Islamic and other cultures
will be adorned on the stations. Anyone visiting abroad can understand that
these are the cultural and heritage of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a country of
religious harmony. These things will also be seen on the stations.
Along with
the eyesight, functional direction has been given more prominence. How people
can reach their destinations from these stations by easily avoiding congestion.
Everything is being done properly for the convenience of people to travel
through the MRT routes.
Regarding the
capacity of the people in the stations, the transport expert said, there will
be 16 stations in the range to transport 60 thousand passengers per hour. The
max speed will be 100 kilometers per hour. But stations are located within
small distances, so 100 kilometers per hour speed may not be possible in such shorter
distance.
In most
places, the work of stations for Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project
(METRO RAIL) is visible from Uttara Diabari, Mirpur, Shewrapara and Agargaon. Spans
for this mega project are visible on the pillars. But in many places there is
no span on the pillar. Gap has been kept in these places, such as at Mirpur-10.
Where there is a pillar construction gate, the station has been planned for
construction. There are also gaps in Uttara (North), Uttara (Center), Uttara
(South), Pallabi, Mirpur 11, Kazipara, Taltala and Agargaon to build stations.
Although the
pillar was constructed in the middle of road, but columns for stations has
constructed on both sides of the road. There are three pillars in the middle of
the column on the two sides. In order to construct the station, Pillar work has
been completed in Uttara (North), Uttara (Center) and Uttara (South). Steel
stations will be installed at these places which are constructing in Japan. These
set will bring here and put on top of the pillars. However, the construction of
the pillar of the station is yet to be completed in Pallabi, Mirpur-10, Mirpur
11, Kazipara, Taltola and Agargaon.
The platform
on both sides of the station will have strong glass for safety. The journey to
the metro rail station will ensure the smooth movement with elevators (moving
stairs). The metro station will be on top of the head, peoples will walk down
the footpath and vehicles will move by the road.
Overall, the construction
work of the metro rail is going on fast. The construction of the station is
getting faster. Only the station will be constructed where there is a gap.
After the completion of the pillar construction work, the ready-made steel
station from Japan will come and will just set up on top of the pillars.
