Recently the
Government of Bangladesh has taken a project to build double railway track from
Ishwardi, Pabna to Joydebpur, Gazipur. The railway minister said if the project
implemented, the communication between the capital and the west part of the
country will be much easier and time consuming.
The
minister said that instead of old tracks, by changing the existing meter gauge
of the railway track in the whole country will be converted to dual gauge by
the year 2041. On June 22 the railway minister said as the chief guest in the 11th
batch parade of Pakshi Railway Safety Force Training Center.
Now peoples
love the train journey rather than by road due to more safety and comfort. The
government is working to build a balanced communication system through the
country based on the instructions of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On the occasion,
the Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon said that before the upcoming
Eid-ul-Azha there will be new direct intercity train on Dhaka- Ishwardi- Benapole
rail route. However, the name of the train has not yet been finalized. The name
of the train and the date of opening will be announced soon after approval of
the Prime Minister.
He also
said that the government will construct another separate bridge besides
existing Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge. After completion of the dual gauge Joydevpur-
Ishwardi rail route, high speed train will be introduced on this route in the future.
In this
regard, the railway minister directed the Rajshahi Chief Engineer Afzal Hossain
to take initial for a modern and affordable station by including a new project to
increase the standard of passenger services. On the occasion senior officials
of the Western Railway, officers of the Pakshi divisional railway office and
local political leaders were present.
An
interconnected intercity direct train on Dhaka- Ishwardi- Benapole rail route will
implement soon which will help the people of the area and as well as the whole
country.
